People tend to have apprehensions regarding certain forms of entertainment, and one of those forms is watch anime. When we were younger, we didn’t have any issues getting up early to watch Dragon Ball Z or Sailor Moon. In fact, I bet you look back on those times with an obvious sense of nostalgia. On the other hand, as individuals become older, they are more inclined to push anime to the background and think of it as something that should be avoided.
However, in an effort to get people interested in anime again, I have produced a list of the top ten reasons why people of all ages should watch anime.
1. It’s seldom going to be cancelled.
There is nothing more frustrating than allowing yourself to become completely invested in a television series, and then having the rug pulled out from under you whenever the network decides to discontinue it *cough* Dirk Gently’s Holistic Private Investigator *cough*, but fortunately, this scenario doesn’t come up very often with anime.
Either the anime will finish when the tale finishes (as is the case with Full Metal Alchemist), or it will go on in an effort to get up to speed with the book (One Piece). You always have the option to continue with the manga if the show ends up being cancelled.
2. Each of the individuals has a distinct personality and is intriguing.
The characters in anime are always so colourful and distinct from one another. Persons in anime have varied personalities, they are an entire group of people (even though they aren’t human), and they have aspirations and objectives, beyond that, there is just so much variation in what they are as individuals.
There is no restriction on what a character may be or who they can be; some examples of what they might be are ghosts, investigators, ghouls, pirates, devils, high school students, and office employees. The list goes on and on and tells us to watch Anime.
3. The characters have weaknesses and they all end up dead.
Characters in anime are not shielded from the story’s progression by any sort of plot Armor, which is sort of like the reverse side of point number two. Even a protagonist that is very essential to the progression of the story might nonetheless have flaws and even die in the process. In anime, there are no such things as perfect characters, and if one is shown to exist, it is almost always to illustrate a certain point about the storyline.
4. It’s easy to relate to anime.
It’s not the plots themselves, but the fact that anything is animated does not guarantee that it’s going to be realistic or approachable in any way. The majority of anime will contain profound ethical and philosophical ideas derived from real-life circumstances. In practically every anime that you see, fundamental themes will emerge, such as the necessity of family ties, the value of being able to go on after suffering a loss, and the significance of making choices.
5. There is an INFINITE number of ways things might go.
What is the most unrelated event that comes to mind for a story? There is most likely an anime based on it. Where do obsessive gamblers go to school? Check. Imaginable universes in which people live with any variety of fantastic beasts. Check. The exploits of a man who, after consuming a mystical fruit, sets off on a quest to become Pirate King. Check. It is quite remarkable that there are no restrictions placed on what kinds of worlds or personalities may exist.
6. It instructs you on the ways of Japanese culture.
This one is a bit more understated, but each anime is imbued with data about Japanese culture. This can range from frequently used phrases and colloquialisms to popular traditions, holidays, myths, and folk law; there is a little variety of magnificent culture blended into the story of each anime.
7. Remarkable examples of strong women’s roles
There is a widespread misunderstanding regarding the way in which anime depicts female characters, but let me clear this up for you: regardless of how they look, the ladies in anime aren’t there to provide male fan service.
They are powerful and engaging characters; there are no damsels seeking distress here (well, at least not in most cases)! In anime, female characters engage in head-to-head combat with male characters during action sequences. These female characters are just as liable to kick a$$ and fight evil as any of the male characters.
8. Breathtakingly exciting episodes of action
And I’m not just talking about the battle sequences! The manner that anime is written lends itself to violence weaving into the storyline of any storyline, which is why the focus of anime is mostly on the action.
Even the episodes that are supposed to be filler usually contain some fascinating plot development. Because animation is a medium that allows for endless creativity, fight sequences in particular have the potential to be fantastic. This is something that just cannot be accomplished with live action.
9. It is quite simple to engage in binge eating
You know that sensation when you get really it into a Television program and decide to start from scratch and binge-watch your way through the first couple of seasons… but then you realize that you’ve caught up?
You are probably thinking about what you should do with the remainder of your life as you are waiting for the next season. Depending on the trailer you choose to watch anime, you may have quite some time before you run out of episodes; for example, Naruto and One Piece are both long-running series that have more than 700 episodes apiece.
10. It will keep you entertained!
The fact that to watch anime dub is incredibly entertaining is perhaps the most obvious among all the arguments on my checklist, but it’s also in the running for the top spot. It’s all about exciting, thought-provoking, and fast-paced tales that are kept moving by intense action sequences and enough melodrama to keep everyone engaged!
